Description
This anonymous 20th-century decorative sculpture depicts a walking horse, cast in a copper alloy, likely bronze. The figure is rendered in a charmingly simplified, naive style characteristic of animalier folk art from the period. The piece is sand-cast with an integral, moulded oval base of the same material. No artist signatures, foundry marks, or edition numbers are visible on the exterior surfaces. The horse is finished in a dark brown-to-black patina.
