An antique Victorian to Edwardian era safety pin brooch, also known as a lace or lapel pin. The piece features a central applied motif of a swallow in flight, a popular sentimental symbol of the period representing loyalty and a safe return. The swallow is crafted from silver-topped metal with a darkened antique patina, set with two round turquoise cabochons and accented with several small seed pearls.
