Lot 139:
Description
An unbranded mid-to-late 19th-century Victorian watch winding key and fob accessory. The piece is constructed from yellow metal, featuring a decorative turned tubular barrel that terminates in a square-profile socket designed for winding pocket watch movements. The centrepiece consists of a double-sided swivel mount set with two circular hardstone tablets: a translucent red carnelian and a dark green bloodstone. This functional tool was designed to be worn on an Albert chain or chatelaine, and it includes both its original suspension loop and a secondary gold-coloured split ring. While often collected alongside Victorian fob pencils, this item served as a dedicated horological tool for non-stem-winding watches of the era.
