Description

A vintage Hornby Dublo 00 gauge breakdown crane, model number 4620, constructed from heavy die-cast metal. The piece features a red-painted chassis and lattice boom with a cream-coloured jib tip. The base is detailed with the number “Nº 133” in yellow and black lettering, a characteristic marking for this British Railways (BR) inspired model. The crane is designed with a rotating superstructure, manual crank handles for operating the boom elevation and hook height, and an exposed gear system. The underside reveals four pairs of black wheels on fixed axles. This model was a staple of the Meccano-produced Hornby Dublo range during the late 1950s and early 1960s. Base length: approximately 6 inches. Total boom length: approximately 11 inches.
