Lot 168:
Description
A collection of mid-20th-century costume jewellery, primarily constructed from clear, faceted acrylic, likely Lucite. The assortment features brooches and pendants showcasing reverse-carved and hand-painted floral motifs in shades of pink, yellow, and blue. Included are two triangular pendants featuring gold-toned metallic intaglio designs depicting crowns and birds, suggestive of military insignia such as the Royal Air Force (RAF); one is suspended from a floral brooch and the other is attached to a black fabric ribbon. The items are mounted with base metal findings, including simple pin backs and jump rings. These pieces represent the popular sweetheart jewellery style of the 1940s and 1950s. No hallmarks or maker’s marks are visible.
