Description
A large-scale, hand-painted German style bisque porcelain figurine, commonly known as a piano baby. The piece depicts a young boy seated on the ground, barefoot, wearing brown breeches and a pale green sailor-style tunic with a ruffled white collar. He is wearing a wide-brimmed lavender-toned hat adorned with a moulded feather and holds a small painted apple in his right hand. The figurine is unmarked, featuring a hollow-cast base with a single circular vent hole typical of late 19th to early 20th-century porcelain manufacturing. Height 33 cm.
