Description
A modern ceremonial or decorative sword, likely manufactured in the 20th century for theatrical use, fraternal organisations, or as a display piece. This civilian item features a straight, double-edged blade with a polished chrome-like finish and a pointed tip. The hilt is constructed from cast brass-coloured metal, featuring a large crossguard with stylised lobed terminals and a cylindrical pommel with decorative horizontal grooves. The grip is wrapped in a red, ribbed synthetic material, likely vinyl or leatherette. The sword is accompanied by a brown leather scabbard with visible stitching and a large rectangular leather frog designed for belt mounting. There are no visible maker’s marks or stamps on the blade or hilt. Blade length 31 inches.
