Description
A commemorative presentation plaque featuring a crossed pair of fixed-blade kukri knives associated with the Indian Army Gorkha Regiment. The steel blades feature a traditional recurve profile with decorative etched scrollwork along the flats near the spine. The handles are constructed from a dark-toned carved horn or hardwood, embellished with decorative metal pin inlays, polished metal bolsters, and metal pommel caps. The knives are mounted on a shield-shaped wooden display board adorned with five metal regimental insignias, including the prominent top-centre Lion Capital of Ashoka over crossed kukris. No maker’s mark or tang stamp is visible. Blade length 11 inches.
