Description

This is a German Reproduction SS (Schutzstaffel) Model 1933 service dagger, a military-issue edged weapon from the WWII era, produced circa the mid-to-late 1930s or early 1940s. The item features a double-edged polished steel blade. The obverse is deeply etched with the SS motto, Meine Ehre heißt Treue, in traditional Fraktur script. The reverse ricasso displays the RZM circle logo over the manufacturer code M7/14, identifying the maker as P.D. Lüneschloss of Solingen. The hilt is constructed with a contoured black hardwood grip inset with a silvered aluminium eagle and swastika at the centre and a circular enameled SS Sig-rune emblem near the pommel. The crossguard and pommel nut are made of silver-plated zinc or nickel-silver. The steel scabbard has a factory black-painted finish with silver-plated or nickel-silver fittings, including a throat with a single suspension ring and a chape with a rounded ball end. Blade length: 22 cm.
