Description
This lot comprises nineteen vintage Real Photo Postcards (RPPCs) dating from approximately 1915 to 1925. The collection features an extensive series of early twentieth-century artistic studies of female nudes and semi-nudes. The subjects are depicted in various studio-staged poses, utilising classical drapery, boudoir settings, and theatrical props such as ladders, mirrors, and Louis XV-style furniture. These cards are significant examples of the French Postcard genre, which blended formal figure study with early erotica. Several cards feature the signature Lydia or Sydia printed within the photographic negative. Various examples bear a stylised JH or LH monogram within a circle, a mark associated with European publishers of the period. Identification text includes SERIE 378, 102, and 118 printed in the margins or negatives. Dimensions: 3.5 inches by 5.5 inches each.
