Description
An early 19th-century English ironstone pitcher by Mason’s, featuring the iconic octagonal form and a moulded serpent-form hydra handle. The vessel is decorated in a vibrant Imari-style palette with transfer-printed and hand-enamelled floral motifs in cobalt blue, iron red, and pale blue against a white ground. The handle is finished in contrasting green and red glazes. The base is marked with the characteristic blue transfer-printed crown above a banner inscribed PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA. Height: approximately 7.5 inches.
