Description
A fine collection of miniature ironstone ceramics produced by Mason’s in the popular Mandalay pattern. This set comprises a shaped rectangular twin-handled tray, a globular teapot with cover, a twin-handled sugar bowl with cover, a faceted bud vase, and two matching saucers. Each piece is decorated in the traditional Imari palette, featuring vibrant transfer-printed floral sprays in shades of pink, orange, and yellow, enhanced with hand-painted cobalt blue accents and fine gilded rims. The underside of the tray and other components bear the printed maker’s mark: Mason’s Ironstone Made in England, alongside the pattern name Mandalay and the notation Printed and Hand Painted. This set represents a charming 20th-century interpretation of the classic 19th-century ironstone aesthetic. Tray length: approximately 19 cm (7.5 inches).
