Description
A Brunton-style pocket transit surveying compass by Stanley London. Constructed from polished brass, the instrument features a hinged lid with an internal sighting mirror and a folding sighting arm. The base plate is engraved with a NATURAL SINE table for angles 1 through 45 degrees, signed STANLEY LONDON at the foot. The interior houses a compass dial marked to 360 degrees in 2-degree increments, cardinal points, an internal clinometer scale for vertical measurements, and an integrated spirit level. This multifunctional tool is designed for determining horizontal bearings, inclination, and level. The overall diameter is approximately 7.5 centimetres. No case is included.
