Lot 49:
Description
A naturalistic composition featuring a pair of Little Owls (Athene noctua). The specimens are presented as full-body taxidermy mounts within a large, vertically-oriented hollowed-out section of a tree trunk, designed to simulate a natural nesting or roosting cavity. One specimen is perched on a small horizontal twig within the niche, while the second stands at the base on a simulated stony floor. The entire trunk section is mounted onto a larger, irregular natural wood base. As a member of the Strigiformes order, this species is listed under CITES Appendix II. Potential buyers are advised to ensure compliance with local wildlife protection regulations and CITES requirements for international transport. No maker’s marks or collection history are present.
