Description
This is a classic example of a law enforcement truncheon, likely of British or American origin, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The piece is turned from a single section of dense hardwood, possibly oak, and finished with a dark stain. The handle features four distinct ribs or finger grooves designed for a secure grip, ending in a rounded pommel. An original brown leather wrist strap is attached through a bored hole near the hilt. This pattern of baton was standard issue for many police forces during the period. It lacks visible unit markings or maker stamps, which is typical for general-issue or private-purchase items of this era. Total length: 38 cm.
