An original Victorian or Edwardian era professional nameplate or office shingle. This rectangular sign is crafted from heavy plate glass using the reverse-painted eglomisé technique. It features the name A. RENNIE in bold, gilded serif lettering set within a deep burgundy centre field. The composition is framed by an elaborate, ornate rococo-style scrollwork border in gold leaf, all set against a black background. The highly decorative typography and scrollwork are characteristic of the late 19th to early 20th century. Dimensions: 9 inches x 4.5 inches.
