Description

A collection of three East Asian porcelain vessels. The first is a large Japanese Meiji period (1868-1912) bowl with a scalloped rim, decorated in underglaze blue with a continuous landscape featuring figures, centred by a circular medallion containing a coiled dragon. The second is a smaller Japanese Arita-style bowl with a brown-dressed rim (kuchibeni), featuring a central floral spray within a border of panels containing various geometric diaper patterns. The third is a shallow, shaped dish decorated in the Famille Rose palette with a central scene of mandarin ducks amongst lotus blossoms, surrounded by sprays of fruit and flowers; the underside bears an iron-red square seal mark. Large bowl diameter approximately 24 cm, small bowl diameter approximately 15 cm, dish length approximately 22 cm.
