Description
This varied collection of Japanese decorative arts comprises several porcelain and ceramic pieces alongside a strand of jewellery. The porcelain selection includes a baluster-form vase decorated with a traditional blue-and-white underglaze landscape and a second vase featuring the intricate Thousand Faces motif in overglaze iron-red and gilt. A miniature teacup and saucer set mirrors this Thousand Faces decoration with fine hand-painted detailing. Three cabinet plates are included, displaying the vibrant polychrome enamels and butterfly, fan, and geometric motifs characteristic of Kutani and Satsuma export styles from the late 19th to early 20th century. The collection is further enhanced by a hand-painted glazed ceramic figurine of a seated figure in pink and green robes and a long strand of tumbled amethyst chip beads.
