Description
A contemporary commemorative portrait bust of Pope John Paul II, cast in a bonded alabaster resin with a polished, off-white finish. The subject is depicted in traditional ecclesiastical attire, including a prominent pectoral cross. The sculpture is set upon an integral, multi-tiered square pedestal which bears the moulded inscription GIOVANNI PAOLO II on the front face. This type of piece is a common religious souvenir, likely of Italian manufacture from the late 20th century. No artist signature or foundry marks are apparent. 14.0 x 6.5 x 5.0 cm.
