Description
A pair of First World War campaign medals comprising a British War Medal and a Victory Medal. The silver British War Medal features a classical depiction of St. George on horseback on the obverse with the dates 1914-1918, and is inscribed on the rim with 31111 E.E. FISHER. R. The bronze Victory Medal depicts a winged figure of Victory on the obverse and bears the inscription THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILISATION 1914-1919 within a laurel wreath on the reverse. Both medals are suspended from their respective original ribbons: a blue, white, black, and orange striped ribbon and a double-rainbow ribbon.
Condition report:
The items show moderate surface wear and tarnish consistent with age, with some minor fraying to the ribbons.
