Description
A decorative porcelain cabinet plate featuring a central polychrome scene in the classical revival style. The artwork depicts allegorical figures and putti engaged in the arts, encircled by a delicate gold-tone garland. The composition is set against a wide emerald green border decorated with gilded scrollwork and four floral-filled white reserves. A signature reading Paul Larose is visible within the lower right of the central artwork. The reverse of the plate is finished in an unmarked white glaze and includes an integrated wire hanger.
Condition report:
The piece displays characteristic wear for its age, including slight thinning of the gilding on the rim. There is minor discoloration to the foot ring on the reverse.
