Description
A large Bowie-style knife featuring a steel clip-point blade. The blade is stamped with the inscription Original Bowie Knife in a gothic-style script. The knife is constructed with a straight metal crossguard and a cylindrical wooden handle secured with pins. Accompanying the knife is a tan leather sheath featuring heavy leather-cord whipstitching along the edges and reinforced with metal rivets. The front face of the sheath is decorated with hand-painted black stylised symbols. A long leather cord is attached to the sheath for carrying purposes.
Condition report:
The knife exhibits signs of age and use consistent with its materials. The steel blade shows surface scratches and minor areas of pitting. The wooden handle displays light wear and surface marks. The leather sheath shows fraying to the cord stitching, surface abrasions, and some oxidation to the metal rivets.
