Description
This lot consists of two items including a Ronson butane lighter and a silver-toned oval locket. The slim butane gas cigarette lighter is constructed from gold-toned metal with engine-turned decoration featuring alternating sections of vertical reeding and a barleycorn pattern. The base of the lighter is stamped with the Ronson maker mark within a rectangular border. The item is housed in its original black plastic hinged case with a red flocked interior and manufacturer branding on the inner lid. The second item is an oval locket pendant made of silver-toned white metal. The front face is decorated with a machine-engraved engine-turned texture and a foliate scrollwork border surrounding a central unengraved cartouche. The locket is suspended from a fine trace link chain which is fitted with a barrel clasp. No hallmarks are visible on the locket, bail, or chain.
Condition report:
The lighter is in good physical condition with minimal surface wear. The sparking mechanism and gas seals are untested. The locket and chain are in good vintage condition with light surface scratches and minor tarnishing consistent with age. The hinge and closure of the locket are intact and functional.
