Lot 73:
Description
A vintage brooch modelled in the form of an Irish harp. The frame is crafted from 935 fineness silver and is pavé-set with numerous rose-cut marcasites across the curved pillar and soundboard. The central section features ten horizontal strings. The reverse of the soundboard is stamped with an incised 935 mark, indicating a silver purity of 93.5 per cent, a standard frequently used in Continental Europe. The brooch is secured with a horizontal pin and a safety C-clasp, and includes an integrated small loop on the frame intended for a safety chain.
Condition report:
The brooch is in good vintage condition. All marcasite stones appear to be present and intact within their settings. The silver displays a natural aged patina with surface tarnish visible on the reverse. The pin and clasp mechanism are in working order.
