Description
Davis Mark III Standard Marine Sextant manufactured by Davis Instruments of San Leandro, California. The instrument is constructed from grey moulded plastic and features an adjustable index arm with a vernier scale graduated from 0 to 60. The arc is graduated from 0 to 90 degrees in 5-degree increments. It is equipped with glass index and horizon mirrors, alongside three tinted plastic sun shades and a fixed sighting tube. The body is moulded with the manufacturer’s details. This lot includes the original instructional booklet titled How to Find Your Position With a Sextant and the original printed cardboard packaging.
Condition report:
The sextant appears to be in good functional condition with no visible cracks or damage to the plastic frame. Mirrors and shades are intact. The index arm moves freely. The instructional booklet is present with some handling wear and creasing. The original cardboard box is in poor condition, exhibiting significant crushing, tearing, and previous tape repairs.
