Lot 40:
Description
A vintage leather-clad decorative model of a horse, depicted in a prancing gait with the near-side foreleg raised. The figure is realistically modelled with anatomical muscle definition and is covered in a dark brown to black stained leather skin with a natural sheen. It is fitted with a miniature leather saddle and a full bridle accented with brass-tone metal rivets and stirrup rings. The inner frame is likely constructed from a composite material or wood. Similar models were produced in India and Italy during the mid-to-late 20th century and were frequently sold through high-end retailers such as Liberty of London. No maker marks or labels are visible.
Length: approximately 33 cm
Height: approximately 30 cm.
Condition report:
The model is in good vintage condition with signs of age and display. There is light surface scuffing and minor wear to the leather, particularly on the ears, neck, and prominent muscle areas. The miniature leather tack is intact and secure. No structural repairs or significant damage were observed.
