Description
A UK commemorative medal issued by The Royal Mint to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. The obverse features the fourth definitive coinage portrait of Her Majesty by Ian Rank-Broadley, facing right. The inscriptions read ELIZABETH II along the upper edge and 60 YEARS 1952-2012 along the lower edge. The item is struck in a silver-coloured base metal with a proof-like finish, featuring mirrored fields and frosted relief. This specific medal was produced to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the accession and was widely distributed as a Schools Medal. The piece is housed in its original red Royal Mint presentation box with a black velvet-effect fitted tray.
Condition report:
Uncirculated. The medal remains in excellent state as issued, showing no visible wear, toning, or surface marks. The presentation case is well-preserved with no significant damage to the exterior or interior lining.
