Description

A vintage novelty figural whiskey decanter produced by the James B. Beam Distilling Co. The piece is modelled as a 1928 Ford Model A Coupe in a fire chief livery. The body is constructed from Regal China ceramic with a red and black finish. It features various plastic and metallic-finish components, including a chrome-effect radiator grille, bumpers, front-mounted bell, and wheel spokes. The black textured roof is designed to simulate a soft-top carriage. A rumble seat located at the rear of the vehicle functions as the removable stopper for the vessel.

The sides of the hood are decorated with gold-toned decals reading C.F.D., and the doors feature decals reading FIRE CHIEF. A partially preserved paper label on the lower side panel identifies the original contents as Beam Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, 80 proof, 100 months old, from the distillery in Clermont, Beam, Kentucky.

Length: Approximately 13 inches

Height: Approximately 8 inches.

Condition report:

The item is in good vintage condition overall. There are visible signs of age-related wear, including surface dust and minor scuffs to the paintwork on the ceramic body and plastic trim. The paper label on the chassis is significantly worn with several missing sections. The decanter is currently empty and is missing its original packaging. No chips or cracks are immediately apparent to the ceramic structure.
