Description
A collection of early to mid-20th-century 9.5mm home cinema films and related accessories, primarily associated with the Pathéscope and Pathé Baby systems. The assortment features a variety of films housed in original black metal cartridges and on reels. Notable titles identified from the labels include several Felix the Cat cartoons such as Felix the Bold, Felix le Chat défenseur du faible, N.2: Félix le Chat victime d’une erreur, and N.2 Felix le Chat a des. Also included is Charlie Chaplin content labeled Charlie on holiday and a reel titled The Awakening of Professor Mechanicus. A cardboard News Reel folder is present, containing a typed index for ten short subjects including A Daring Dive, Tobogganing, Trained Elephants, The Elephants’ Bath, Grand Prix Motor Race, Ski Jumping, and The Otter. Hardware components include a large black-painted spoked metal film reel and several smaller reels embossed with the Pathé Scope mark. The collection is stored in a vintage rectangular metal and cardboard box for Chocolate Table Biscuits by Macfarlane, Lang & Co. Ltd. and includes a yellow 9.5mm Collectors Club film box.

Condition report:
The items are in vintage, used condition. The film labels exhibit varying degrees of wear, staining, and some paper loss. The News Reel index card shows age-related yellowing. The biscuit storage box displays significant wear, scuffing, and peeling to the printed paper label. The films themselves have not been tested for playback or inspected for chemical degradation such as vinegar syndrome.
