Description
A fine bone china teacup and saucer set by Wedgwood in the Butterfly Bloom pattern. The design features a pale blue ground embellished with dark blue Chinoiserie-style floral scrolls and butterflies, further accented with large pink floral blooms. The teacup is formed with a pedestal base, a flared rim, and a wishbone handle. Both pieces feature scalloped edges and are finished with fine gilt-lined rims. The set is presented in its original circular cardboard box. The pale blue lid is decorated with a gold-toned central pastoral scene, a scrollwork border, and an outer ring of heart motifs, featuring the Wedgwood maker’s mark and England 1759 stamp. The base of the box is finished with an overall pattern of stylised daisies.
Saucer diameter: 15.2 cm
Teacup height: 6.5 cm.
Condition report:
The teacup and saucer appear to be in very good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of restoration. The transfer decoration and gilding remain bright and intact. The presentation box shows minor surface wear and light scuffing to the edges consistent with handling and storage.
