Lot 131:
Description
A British military pattern bugle featuring a copper body with brass fittings including the bell flare, stays, and mouthpiece. The bell is mounted with a cast brass badge bearing the circular inscription THE LONDON MUSICAL SUPPLY ASSN around a central crown and decorative crest. The instrument is designed in a two-loop configuration and retains its original brass mouthpiece, which is attached to the body by a small safety chain. The bugle is decorated with a braided tri-colour cord in black, red, and yellow, which is wrapped around the grip and finishes with two large matching tassels.
Height: approximately 29 cm.
Condition report:
The copper body exhibits several shallow dents and dings, particularly on the outer curves of the tubing. The metal components show surface tarnish and light oxidation consistent with age. The decorative fabric cord and tassels are in good condition, showing only minor signs of fraying.
