Description

An extensive assortment of UK, Commonwealth, and world postage stamps housed across several volumes. The lot includes The Loose-Leaf QUICK-CHANGE Stamp Album by Rapkin and The Capital Stamp Album, alongside several unmarked binders in blue, red, and brown faux-leather finishes. The UK portion features various 1960s commemorative sets including the 1966 World Cup (SG 693-695), 1966 Christmas (SG 713-714), and 1966 British Technology (SG 715-718). Mint blocks of Machin head definitives are present, as well as territorial issues from Jersey, Guernsey, and the Isle of Man. International contents include a significant range of Middle Eastern issues from the Trucial States, specifically Dubai, Fujaira, Ras al-Khaima, and Umm al-Qiwain, featuring themes such as the 1970 World Cup and 1972 Olympics. The stamps are predominantly perforated and are presented in both hinge-mounted and stock-strip formats. Handwritten annotations throughout the albums identify specific sets such as the 1964 International Botanical Congress and the 20th Geological Congress.

Binders measure approximately 28 cm in height.

Condition report:

The collection is in mixed mint and used condition. Mint material includes never hinged and hinged examples. Used stamps exhibit various cancellations, including circular date stamps and machine cancels. The albums show varying degrees of shelf wear, with significant damage and loss noted to the spine of the yellow Rapkin album. Occasional toning and foxing are visible on some older pages and selected stamps.
