Description

This lot comprises two vintage photographic accessories. The first item is an SEL True-View Stereoscope manufactured by Signalling Equipment Ltd. of Potters Bar, Middlesex, England. The handheld viewer features a two-tone moulded body in dark brown and cream plastic with twin internal magnifying lenses. It is accompanied by its original red presentation box containing three individual boxed film strip sets: Subject No. 1 London Scenes, Subject No. 2 Scottish Beauty Spots, and Subject No. 6 The Lake Districts. Operating instructions are printed on the interior of the box lid. The second item is an L.P.L. dual film splicer for 8mm and 16mm cine film, manufactured by L.P.L. Co. Ltd. in Japan. The device is constructed from cast metal with a grey hammertone finish. It includes the original blue cardboard box, a printed instruction manual, and a packet of Quik Splice adhesive tapes.

Condition report:

The stereoscope is in good cosmetic condition with no visible cracks or heavy scratches; lenses appear clear. Its original box shows shelf wear, scuffing to the edges, and minor corner crushing. The individual film boxes are well-preserved. The L.P.L. splicer is in very good condition with minimal signs of use or paint loss, and mechanical components operate smoothly. Its blue box exhibits age-related staining, fading, and wear to the corners.
