Description
This lot comprises an assortment of precision drafting and mathematical tools. It includes a professional drafting set housed in a rectangular red velvet-lined zippered case, containing nickel-plated and steel instruments such as various compasses and extension bars. A second, larger multi-tiered drafting set is presented in a black velvet-lined case, featuring a comprehensive array of dividers and precision compasses. Two additional smaller auxiliary sets are included: one in an orange-lined case featuring a central blue stylised logo and another in a red-lined case with a transparent lid. The collection also features an assortment of slide rules, including a traditional wooden linear rule in a light-coloured protective sleeve, a white plastic rule with complex logarithmic scales, and a circular rotary calculator in a blue and white housing. Completing the lot is a modern calligraphy set in a black presentation box, which includes a silver-toned pen body and several interchangeable steel nibs. This set is accompanied by a printed instruction sheet in German with the heading Kalligraphie 501. The instruments are primarily constructed from nickel-plated brass, steel, wood, and plastic.
Condition report:
The items are in good vintage condition overall. The drafting instruments and slide rules show evidence of use consistent with age but have been well-maintained within their respective cases. The external cases show minor scuffing and wear. While the sets appear largely complete, individual small components have not been checked against original manufacturer inventory. The calligraphy set appears to be in an unused condition.
