Description
A polished brass sextant of traditional form, designed as a decorative maritime instrument. The piece features a brass frame with three circular apertures and a moveable index arm equipped with a vernier scale and a knurled tangent screw for fine adjustment. The graduated arc is finished in a silver tone and is engraved with a scale ranging from -5 to 130 degrees. The optical components include a fixed-focus brass telescope, an index mirror, and a half-silvered horizon mirror. The instrument is fitted with seven hinged glass shade filters, with four situated for the index mirror and three for the horizon mirror. The reverse of the frame is equipped with a turned wooden handle. No maker marks, dates, or serial numbers are visible on the instrument.

Condition report:
The instrument is in good condition with a bright, high-polish finish to the brass. The glass mirrors and shade filters appear intact and free from chips or cracks. The mechanical components, including the index arm and shade filters, move freely. No protective case or additional accessories are present.
