An assortment of late Victorian and Edwardian hatpins and stick pins featuring decorative heads. The items include various faux pearls of differing sizes and colours including cream, white, and iridescent bronze, in both spherical and teardrop forms. Notable pieces include a large clear glass globe and a pin with a colourful geometric enamelled bead. Several pins are accented with decorative metal filigree caps and spacers. The pins vary in length and are constructed with long metal shafts. The collection is housed in a contemporary period purple velvet-covered presentation box with a cream silk-lined lid and a black velvet base. The interior lid bears a black printed mark under a crown crest for Punchards, Jewellers, Silversmiths and Opticians, 74 Whiteladies Rd, Bristol.
Box width: approximately 17 cm
Longest pin length: approximately 18 cm.
Condition report:
The pins are in good antique condition overall with expected oxidation and darkening to the metal shafts. Minor surface scratches and some loss to the pearlescent coating on the faux pearls are visible. The presentation box shows wear to the exterior velvet, particularly at the corners and hinges. The interior silk lining shows minor foxing and light staining.
