Description
This collection comprises a vintage Subbuteo table soccer game and an assortment of Arsenal Football Club memorabilia. The Subbuteo ‘The Football Game’ set is housed in its original green cardboard packaging featuring instructional illustrations and gameplay photographs on the reverse. The internal components include two teams of miniature players on weighted bases, with one team in red shirts and white shorts and the other in blue shirts and white shorts. Also included are two goals with red netting, two balls, and green plastic molded storage trays. The memorabilia collection features official matchday programs from the late 1970s, including the 1978 FA Cup Final (Arsenal v Ipswich Town) and the 1979 FA Charity Shield (Arsenal v Liverpool). Other home programs from the 1978-1980 period include fixtures against IFK Gothenburg (European Cup Winners’ Cup), Southampton, and Notts County. The lot further includes a variety of match tickets from the 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 seasons at Highbury Stadium, covering Premier League and European matches against opponents such as Shakhtar Donetsk, Deportivo La Coruna, Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, and Middlesbrough. Seating indicated on the tickets includes the North Bank Lower Tier and Clock End. A ‘Thierry Henry – A Year in Posters’ special edition magazine is also present within the group.
Condition report:
The items are in varied condition consistent with age and use. The Subbuteo box shows shelf wear, edge rubbing, and some age-related discolouration. Several of the vintage programs are preserved in clear plastic sleeves and appear in good condition. Match tickets show typical signs of handling, including minor creases and wear from use on matchdays.
