Description
An assortment of vintage cigarette cases and a metal ashtray, featuring a variety of materials and decorative finishes. The collection includes multiple metal cases in silver-toned and gold-toned finishes, some displaying engine-turned patterns, horizontal ribbing, or plain polished surfaces. One case is decorated with an ornate embossed heraldic scrollwork design. Several examples are finished with textured decorative covers, including black crocodile-effect, brown lizard-effect, and a gold-flecked finish. Included in the group is a square copper-toned metal ashtray with two cigarette rests and a central circular medallion containing impressed marks. A wooden ruler marked SINGER and MADE IN ENGLAND is positioned in the frame for scale.
Measurements:
The total width of the items as laid out is approximately 70 cm. Individual cases range in length from approximately 8 cm to 13 cm.
Condition report:
The collection shows varying degrees of age-related wear. Surface scratches, light tarnishing, and oxidation are visible on the metal cases and ashtray. Some of the decorative covers exhibit scuffing and wear to the edges. Internal mechanisms such as hinges and retaining elastics have not been tested.
