Description
A trio of fossilised or sub-fossilised mammal teeth, identified as equid molars and premolars, likely belonging to an Equus species dating from the Pleistocene epoch. These specimens are hypsodont, or high-crowned, teeth which are characteristic of grazing herbivores. The occlusal grinding surfaces exhibit the complex, W-shaped infolding of enamel typical of the horse family. The teeth display varied mineralisation in tones of cream, tan, ochre, and dark brown, with the enamel surfaces possessing a naturally polished appearance.
Larger specimen length: approximately 4.5 cm to 5 cm
Larger specimen width: approximately 3 cm to 3.5 cm.
Condition report:
The specimens consist of individual fossilised teeth without attached jawbone or roots. The surfaces show natural wear consistent with the age of the animal. There is evidence of fragmentation and material loss, particularly on the smallest specimen.
