Description

A set of six clear glass cordial glasses, identified as mid-20th-century souvenir ware from Florence, Italy. Each glass is constructed with an elongated cylindrical body and a weighted bulbous base. An applied metal shield-shaped crest is fixed to the base of each glass, featuring a heraldic motif of a stylized eagle perched atop a three-towered castle. The glasses are housed in their original light-grained wooden crate, which includes a hinged lid and an interior wooden insert with six circular apertures. The front of the crate is stenciled in black ink with the words CORDIAL GLASSES. The lid is stenciled with FROM FLORENCE ITALI and bears a circular stamp marked MADE IN ITALY. The glass appears machine-made with clean lines.

Glasses: Approximately 14.5–15 cm in height.
Crate: Approximately 17 cm in width.

Condition report:

The glasses are in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or significant clouding. The applied metal crests exhibit a light, natural patination. The wooden crate shows signs of age-related wear, including surface scuffing and minor discoloration. A small vertical hairline split is present on the front panel near the centre. The metal hardware shows signs of oxidation.
