Description
A vintage Corgi Toys No. 497 die-cast model car based on the 1960s television series The Man from U.N.C.L.E. The model represents a Thrush-Buster Oldsmobile Super 88 finished in dark purple paint. It features a spring-loaded gun firing mechanism operated by depressing the periscope on the roof, which causes the two interior figures, representing characters Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin, to lean out of the side windows. The vehicle is equipped with a white U.N.C.L.E. logo decal on the bonnet, clear windows, a green interior, and plastic chrome-effect bumpers and spotlights. The base is constructed from grey plastic and is marked Oldsmobile Super 88 with a central U.N.C.L.E. globe logo, Corgi Toys, Pat. App. No. 17667/66, and Made in Gt. Britain. The car sits on four rubber tyres with spun metal hubs. Accompanying the vehicle is the original illustrated card box featuring graphic artwork of the vehicle and characters.

Condition report:
The vehicle is in good original condition with minor paint chipping to the front bumper edges, the periscope, and the rear fins. The bonnet decal is largely intact with only minor surface wear. The interior figures and all four tyres remain present. The original box shows moderate wear, including creasing, edge rubbing, and small tears. One end flap is currently detached.
