Description
A pair of late 19th or early 20th-century lorgnette-style opera glasses. The instrument features barrels and eyepieces inlaid with vertical panels of mother-of-pearl, complemented by a white, faceted handle with an adjustable gilt-metal folding joint. The metal components, including the bridge, lens surrounds, and focusing wheel, are finished in a gold-toned gilt. The glasses feature a central knurled focusing screw. No maker marks or inscriptions are visible on the bridge, handle, or eyepieces.

Condition report:
The gilt-metal components show visible surface wear and loss to the plating, notably on the central bridge and the edges of the lens barrels. The mother-of-pearl inlays appear complete and are well-seated without visible cracks or missing panels. The lenses are intact but contain internal dust and surface grime. Mechanical elements, including the central focus wheel and the folding mechanism for the handle, are functional.
