Description
A cold-cast bronze sculpture by Roger Allsop titled Diana the Huntress. The mythological subject is depicted in a dynamic lunging pose, wearing stylized animal skins and holding a separate brass-toned metal bow. The figure is finished with a dark brown patina. The sculpture is mounted on a textured dark ground, which is further set upon a larger, light-coloured resin plinth designed with a rough-hewn stone texture. The underside is covered in red felt and features a gold-toned printed label that reads RA 2, Diana the Huntress, Takes Base A, Made in England.
Width: 30.5 cm.
Condition report:
The bowstring is missing. There is minor surface dust present in the recessed areas of the casting. The red felt on the base shows light wear. The sculpture is otherwise in good decorative condition with no visible chips or cracks to the resin.
