Description
A large contemporary decorative metal globe designed as a cork cage for storing wine corks. The piece features a spherical orb constructed from an open wirework lattice representing lines of latitude and longitude, with flat sheet-metal cutouts of the world’s continents attached to the exterior. The globe is mounted within a semi-circular meridian arm, supported by a turned central stem on a weighted circular pedestal base. The entire object is finished in a mottled, distressed silver-tone coating to simulate an aged pewter or industrial appearance. A small latch mechanism is located at the base of the orb to facilitate the insertion and removal of corks.

Condition report:
The item is in good decorative condition. The finish is intentionally distressed and uneven as part of the manufactured design. There are minor surface scuffs, light oxidation, and dust accumulation consistent with display and handling. The wireframe and continent cutouts appear structurally sound.
