Description
A Soviet Russian open-faced pocket watch manufactured by Molnija and branded as Express. The white dial is detailed with black Arabic numeral hour markers, red outer 24-hour markers, and a sub-seconds dial at the 6 o’clock position. The dial displays a red winged wheel railway logo and is inscribed with the Cyrillic text ЭКСПРЕСС, 18 rubis, and MADE IN USSR. The manual wind 18 jewel movement is housed in a chrome-plated base metal case. The reverse of the case features a relief decoration of a steam locomotive.
Case diameter: 50mm.
Condition report:
The dial remains in good condition with no visible cracks. The crystal is clear. There is minor surface wear and light pitting to the chrome plating on the crown, bow, and case edges consistent with age. The mechanical functionality of the movement has not been tested.
