Description
A carved green hardstone figurine depicting a bear in a standing posture. The figure is rendered with stylized, rounded forms, featuring paws held forward and an open mouth. The stone displays a deep green colour with natural mottled inclusions and a waxy to vitreous lustre, characteristic of nephrite jade. The figurine stands upon an integral rectangular stone base with rounded corners. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the body or the surfaces of the base.

Condition report:
There is a notable area of damage and loss within the bear\'s mouth, exhibiting a rough, light-coloured surface where the polished finish is missing, possibly indicating a missing accessory. Several small white scuffs, nicks, and surface abrasions are visible on the bear\'s right shoulder, torso, and back. The corners and edges of the base show minor shelf wear and tiny flea-bite chips consistent with age and handling.
