Description
A UK British War Medal (1914-1918) struck in .925 sterling silver. The obverse features the left-facing coinage profile of King George V with the Latin legend GEORGIVS V BRITT: OMN: REX ET IND: IMP:. The reverse exhibits the standard McMillan design with the dates 1914 and 1918. The medal displays a naturally aged dark patina throughout the fields.
Condition report:
Fine condition. A notable rim nick is present at the twelve o\'clock position. There is moderate wear to the high points of the relief, including the King’s beard and the horse’s musculature. The surface shows scattered marks and abrasions consistent with age and handling. Dark toning is prevalent in the recessed areas. Edge naming is not visible in the provided images.
