Description

An Edwardian mahogany lancet mantel clock featuring a pointed arched case decorated with boxwood stringing and a central oval marquetry patera with a fan motif. The clock is supported by four brass bun feet. The internal mechanical movement is a time-only mechanism with a lever escapement and a visible balance wheel, stamped on the backplate with the Junghans trademark of a walking lion on a double-bar pedestal. The circular white dial features black Arabic numerals, an outer minute track, and blued steel spade hands, protected by a brass bezel and convex glass. A winding key is included.
Height: 32 cm.

Condition report:

The case displays surface wear, minor scuffs, and scratches consistent with age. There is a small section of loss to the marquetry inlay on the left-hand edge of the central patera. The brass feet and bezel show natural tarnish and oxidation. The dial remains in good condition. The movement appears intact and includes its key, but it has not been tested for timekeeping accuracy or mechanical longevity.
