Both pieces are finished with a contrasting blue and white geometric chequerboard border to the rims and the base of the cup, which also features a fully gilded handle. The interior of the cup is entirely gilded. The base of both components bears a green printed mark consisting of the word ENGLAND in an arc above a crown, followed by the word COALPORT and the date A.D. 1750. The cup also features a hand-painted pattern number T2327 in red script.
Saucer diameter: 8.9 cm
Cup height: 3.8 cm.
Condition report:
The set is in very good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. There is minor surface staining to the unglazed foot rim of the cup (photo 3). A small dark firing speck is present in the glaze on the underside of the saucer (photo 4). The gilding and painted decoration remain bright and intact across all surfaces.
