Description
A mid-century ceramic desk tidy comprising a boat-shaped dish finished in a mottled green drip glaze. The item features a raised central pedestal supporting a Silver model car designed in the style of a vintage touring car. The car is detailed with a chrome-effect body, pink interior, and spoked wheels with black tyres, including a rear-mounted spare. The vehicle is secured to the base by two screws accessible from the underside. The base of the ceramic dish is incised with a mark consisting of a vertical line with two diagonal strokes meeting it from the left, forming a stylized letter K.
Length: 17 cm.
Condition report:
The ceramic body displays visible crazing throughout the glaze, which is most prominent on the underside (photo 3). There are no apparent chips, cracks, or signs of restoration to the ceramic (photo 1). The Silver car model shows minor surface wear to the chrome-effect finish (photo 2). The mounting screws on the underside exhibit surface oxidation and rust (photo 3).
